Introduction

My name is Tony Mashaal and I'm the owner and chef at the Olive Cafe here in Topeka, Kansas. An Egyptian by birth, I was raised in both Egypt and Italy where, as you might expect, my heart remains.

When I was younger, I traveled extensively around the Mediterranean visiting many countries and learning about their incredible cultures and enjoying their amazing food. Indeed, it was my love for food that led me to learn to cook and I became a chef at a very young age.

Today, cooking remains my passion and being a perfectionist, I am always challenging myself to discover, create and refine my recipes to be the best they possibly can.
